GALLERY BOUTIQUE: Our latest Art Exhibit by Karen Potter has come and gone, with a record number of people coming in to view Karen’s colorful paintings. We now move into the holiday season here at the Gallery with no art exhibits hosted for the months of November and December. We use this time to fill our space with a wide variety of handcrafted and locally sourced Boutique wares! This is a wonderful opportunity to support your local makers, artists and small businesses this holiday season. We have many returning vendors this year including Circle O Alpacas assortment of cozy wool accessories from toques, mitts, insoles and the ever popular alpaca wool socks! They also have expanded their line to include hand dyed yarns. “Cool Mitts” has also returned with their upcycled sweater mitts in many fun colors and patterns! With the arrival of cold weather it is a great time to shop our stock of leather moccasins, knitted accessories or hand woven scarves by 48 North Handwovens.
Many new vendors have joined the Boutique recently, Spruce Hollow Farms have brought us handcrafted soaps that smell divine! What excites us most about these guys is their commitment to using local ingredients and supporting other local farms! The lard used in their soaps comes from pasture raised Manitoba pigs and the tallow is from Manitoba grass fed cows, they also incorporate locally sourced honey and beans. The rosemary used in the shampoo bar is even grown in right in their own garden and they love foraging for other useful ingredients. How cool is that?!
Shunshine Designs is also new to our gift shop, with an endless supply of crochet children’s items including booties, sweaters, photo props and eco-friendly water balloons! Richmond Honey Farms has added beeswax candles and ready-made gift packages to their inventory. We also have new jewelry, scrapbooks, quilting, and cards on the shelves. Stay tuned for more information on other new products that are arriving soon.
